Question from a noob here:
Is it legal and within the rules to outright request bad ratings from other players?
Even if my gameplay was strategically sound and honorable?
I'm currently on 2.8 after 5 games played with one good and one bad rating. But I would actually like to see that number drop into the 1 point somethings.
Ratings is usually used by other players to evalute how they can trust you and/or if they'd like to play with you.
Therefore it's weird that you'd like to have a low ratings because that means some people are less likely to join a game with you, or in game wouldn't trust your words.
That being said I think most people don't check ratings.
But, my guess is you can ask, no one will care that you're trying to get a low ratings, only an issue for you, not for the rest of us.
Yes it's weird - I know that. 1st place in bad ratings is a type of achievement though.
Thanks for replying, but I feel like that answer wasn't really definitive.
You see its like this: I don't want to get banned for soliciting bad ratings.
That being said - I've been going thru other people's ratings and it seems there are players giving out bad ratings and nonsensical tags to almost anyone for no reason. So the ratings system itself is a bit weird. Qualities that really matter are win rate, points and attendance - these aren't subjective.
I myself would never give out an undeserved bad rating (unless requested).
Besides couldn't a low rated player just join a game last. Deadbeats, suiciders and irrational players are the ones I would want to avoid and so these should be included as proper stats.
Currently on 50% win rate, never missed a turn, never suicided - and never
People who give false ratings can be punished if they are reported to us.
Normally we will remove the privilege of being able to rate other players, but in the past some have been totally removed from the site.
catstevens: you are now an honorary American TG...Congrats
Thanks TeeGee that pretty much answers my question.
Therefore I will immediately cease and desist from asking for a bad rating.
I love this game for some reason.
Thanks again.
