I was a captain of the team Xroads beat in last round.
There was zero communication from Benja throughout the process. The competition began because Xroads and myself communicated with each other without assistance from Benja. It went about 4 weeks without any communication from Benja.
Whenever one of us proposed a question to Benja he responded in a rude, belligerent, condescending manner. When I asked about the opposing sides games, Benja began berating me for being lazy and how he was going to make my team forfeit.
It was the first time I had been in a tournament where the host didn't create the games or at least give you some guidance.
Benja lacks the maturity and professionalism to host a tournament; and I believe there is a psychological deficiency.
Any issue that is occurring at the moment is undoubtedly due to Benja's personal weaknesses.
Conversely, why is it so hard for you to provide a list of the games and settings you want? Maybe it would be easy enough for him to copy it over from the last time, but it would be just as easy for you.xroads wrote:I just find it hard to believe that.
Make our home games the same fucking way they were last round is so fucking hard to understand?????????
He is the tourny host, it is his job to make the games & keep in contact with everyone.

It might be his job to make the games, but it isn't his job to go back through the tournament and research your past games & settings if they are able to be changed from tournament to finals etc.xroads wrote:It isnt,
But isnt that the whole job of the tournament organizer?
It is pretty bad he cant even acknowledge an email, or send a follow up. It is just pure laziness.
He has to make the games, I cant. All he has to do is make them the same way he did last round. Same game, same player, same settings.

Concerning xroad, he said, "Make the same". Then benga didn't reply to him. And that's it. If benga had said that's not enough maybe there would have been argument. But as far as I understand xroad posts, xroad replied something, and benga said nothing then did random. How many posts and time did it take to argue as opposed to just answering the question?
Only 1 fifth of the games have been played but benga declared them winner.benga wrote:winners:

Yes. Apparently my instructions to make the games with the correct settings wasn't direct enough.Donelladan wrote:Is this matter being discussed by the tournament directors???

Keeping track of details in your tournament absolutely is your job, if you're the organizer. Any good organizer keeps track of every single aspect of his tournament. I run all mine in Excel, and keep track of everything. If I'm letting people pick their maps and settings, you can bet I'm recording all selections. It's the responsible thing to do. If you're not willing to keep those records, than either run simpler tournaments, or lock in all settings at the start of the tournament. And even if you don't keep track of them, CC does - every made game is still searchable.IcePack wrote:It might be his job to make the games, but it isn't his job to go back through the tournament and research your past games & settings if they are able to be changed from tournament to finals etc.
Saying "same as last round" tells him zero. No TO is going to memorize every teams preferred map or settings, especially someone's running multiple events / tournaments at a time.

Sounds to me like Benga is a lazy organizer. It's his job to maintain communication with his participants. It's his job to keep track of his participants preferred settings, and it's his JOB to make every effort at getting those preferred settings, even if they are lazy in responding to him.
Bollocks.
